Dealing with Extreme Heat

Due to the extreme heat, the potential for heat-related illnesses significantly increases, particularly for those that work outdoors or are engaged in outdoor activities. Please make sure to take precautions to try and prevent heat-related illnesses from occurring.

  • Drink Plenty of fluids to maintain hydration

  • Stay in cool areas whenever possible

  • Stay out of the sun

  • Avoid strenuous work

  • Check on your relatives, elders, and neighbors

  • Go to the California Department of Public Health FAST FACTS for preventing summer heat injuries.

NEVER leave children or pets in vehicles under any circumstance.
